The AKH8 is a ball valve with a one-piece ball - stem - unit.

The AKH8 is a two-piece lined full bore ball valve and one-piece ball stem assembly. It offers high safety factors and stability. In comparison to ball valves with a floating ball, the AKH8 is a valve with a one-piece ball - stem - unit. The rigid connection of the two elements results in advantages when used with tough, highly viscous and sticky media, especially with high switching cycles.

 For particularly toxic and corrosive media, the AKH8 offers further advantages. Due to the two-piece design, the ball valve is stiffer than a three-piece ball valve and eliminates a potential leakage path. In addition, it has a maintenance-free housing connection. The centre flange design is equipped with a static and dynamic middle flange seal and a metal-to-metal body joint that protects this seal. It absorbs destructive pipe vibrations and distortions so that there will be no negative effects on the sealing performance. Thermal cycling no longer requires the middle flange bolts to be tightened.
